Tom Rogers

Tom finds opportunities in unique places. Where others might see a degraded, abandoned or polluted area, Tom sees “an underperforming site” and the potential it holds. “They’re complex projects that require an artful touch, technical skill and a tremendous amount of teamwork,” he acknowledges. “But when we blend art, ecology and engagement with technical expertise we can clean up places that detract from communities and turn them into assets. By bringing different parts of the community together, we create new and special places.” Tom’s own special place is somewhere outdoors. He enjoys being active, from running to hiking, biking, skiing and paddling and has always had an affinity for the natural sciences. He also loves to draw. “Working at SmithGroup combines all of the things I’m really interested in, connecting people with nature and art.”
